About Our Jewelry

Do you offer mined diamonds or only lab-grown?

We are proud to provide both mined and lab-grown diamonds on our website.

What is a lab-grown diamond?

A lab-grown diamond is produced in a controlled laboratory rather than an underground mine as an artificial, lab-created, cultured, or cultivated diamond. The process is not geological; humans manage it. It is a flawless, wise, economical substitute for mined diamonds. Find out more details on lab-grown diamonds here.

Are lab-grown diamonds natural like mined diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds are natural diamonds in every way. They have the same chemical, optical, and physical characteristics as mined diamonds. Produced in a laboratory above the earth instead of forming deep below its surface, diamonds made in laboratories are 100% authentic. However, diamond imitators like moissanite and cubic zirconia are only imitations of natural diamonds because they lack the same chemical and physical characteristics of a mined diamond. Find out more information on lab-grown diamonds here.

How are lab-grown diamonds created?

A diamond "seed" is set inside a sophisticated growth chamber in carbon-rich conditions. Through our growth technique, the seed develops into a rough diamond. The rough diamond gets laser-cut, polished, and finished like a mined diamond. Learn more about lab-grown diamonds here.

How do you advertise carat total weight, and what are the tolerances?

In addition to showing them in decimals in the product description, we offer all of our diamond carat total weights (CTW) in fractions in the product name. We adhere to the diamond industry's best practices and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requirements for diamonds advertised as fractions. Please click here to read more about our tolerances for diamond CTW.

Are your lab-grown diamonds laser inscribed?

We laser engraved on the girdle of all lab-grown diamonds .50 ct and larger.

What metal types do you offer?

Our jewelry comes in 14K gold or platinum. Most gold items are available in white, yellow, and rose gold. You can choose your metal type and color on the product page for all items.

Are all white gold rings rhodium plated?

Yes. We use rhodium plating on our white metals, like white gold. The rhodium plating enhances the luster and durability of the metal. It gives the jewelry a smooth, shiny finish, a prevalent practice in the jewelry industry.

Is the jewelry stamped?

Yes. We have a legal obligation per the National Stamping Act to stamp silver and gold jewelry, and we follow the guidelines for stamping as set forth by the FTC. These markings, or stamps, are required to show the quality of the metal and the trademark. For example, if the item is 14-karat gold, the stamp will show 14K.

We also include LGD in the stamp for jewelry that provides for lab-grown diamonds. For rings, the stamp is inside the band, on either the right or left side. We recommend looking through a magnifier or jeweler's loupe if you do not see the stamp with the naked eye.
